12 Year Anniversary...it’s a thing (KICKSTARTER)

The shutdown has hurt many of us, but also gives us time to reflect. From 1996 to 2011, hip hop was my passion of choice. Not only keeping me out of trouble, it was my introduction to jazz, soul, funk, kraut rock, ambient, and some of my oldest friends. But it wasn’t till 2006 that I found my voice and style. That was with the hip hop album, Boxcar Portal under the alias DIAL 81.
With everything going on and yet nothing... I had to stay busy, so I went back in time. The LP is edited from its 56 minutes to 44 in order to fit on a single vinyl record. Instrumentals have been removed as well as “Funky Candidate”, but features the unreleased song “Time Out”. I cleaned up the 18 songs and had them mastered by Eddie Logix. The artwork is resized and updated. And as I never really follow the norm, why not make it a 12 year anniversary release!

Background Check
Boxcar Portal was captured on a Roland 880 recorder and crafted with an MPC 1000, SP-303, SP-202, a Shure 58 mic, a busted turntable, and few crates of records. It was originally released on CD, featuring guests vocals by Skrapz (of Level Jumpers / Halfbreed), Count Bass D, Kadence, Beverly Fresh, Fahrenheit Temperature 2040, and Mobil. The cd was released on Superior Belly and only sold at shows and select shops.
